An application which helps managers in selecting the decision process/leadership style that would be most effective in solving problems or making decisions which impact others. It uses a taxonomy of leadership styles and a set of situational factors which need to be considered in choosing the most effective process. A computer based model translates a manager’s judgments of the situational factors into recommendations of when and to what degree to involve the group or team in the decision making process. It is an outgrowth of three decades of research of leadership by Professor Vroom of Yale University and has been widely used in training leaders around the world. Recommendations based on the model have been found to be two to three times more likely to be successful in achieving objectives than those that are inconsistent with the model.
